Dean. Who was your favourite team when you were growing up? Many Thanks, James.
James Biggs
Hi James. I supported Manchester United when I was growing up and I still do. But just not when I´m playing against them... Cheers mate, Dean

Can you play any other sports and, if so, are you any good? Ben.
The Editor
I can play pretty much any sport but whether I´m any good remains to be seen! You´d have to ask the people I was playing with/against. I really like golf; I´m OK at that. Cheers, Deano

I broke my ankle when I was playing football too, what´s the best way to stay positive when you are on crutches? Andrew
The Editor
Well Andrew, it can be hard but the best way is to find some good TV programmes! Friends was always a winner for me. And just think that it could be worse. There is always someone worse off than yourself, so you just have to be glad that you´re healthy and you know you´ll get through it. Cheers, Dean

Are you looking forward to forming a partnership with Craig Bellamy. Do you think you can work well for each other? Mark, a Hammers fan, London.
The Editor
It would be nice if we got the chance to play with each other. Obviously, that´s injuries permitting. I think we would play well together, but that´s not taking anything away from the other strikers at West Ham - I enjoy playing with all of them.

Ole Ole Ole, Deano Deano!! You are my favourite West Ham player and I really want your autograph. Where can I get one from? Saz. Aged 12.
The Editor
Hiya Saz. Thanks for your e-mail. The best way of getting things autographed from anyone at West Ham is to contact the club itself. I always answer any autograph requests that we get there. Thanks very much, Dean.

Who is the loudest in the West Ham dressing room? Julian. Sent 17.11.07
The Editor
That´s a tough one, we´ve got quite a few so it´s hard to pick. Bobby Zamora was always very funny and quite a loud one, but there is also Kieron Dyer and Craig Bellamy. They´ve all got a lot to say!

Hi Dean. My son Nathan has just turned 13 and plays for FC Bracknell U13 for the Premiership division in the North East Hants League. He plays in defence, but is a sweeper as he has fast pace and can get back to defend. He plays and reads the game extremely well and I was wondering how old you were when you were first spotted? Sarah.
The Editor
Hi Sarah. I started playing when I was about 12, for my school team. It can be hard to make people sit up and take notice of you, you just have to work as hard as you can and enjoy your football. That´s the main thing. Your son is doing the right thing by playing for a local team, playing for your school, or county, or anything like that is the best way to improve yourself as a player and improve his chances of getting spotted. Practise and enjoying his football are two of the most important factors to remember. All the best, Dean.

Who was your football hero when you were growing up? Danielle
The Editor
Hi Danielle. For years after the Italia 90 World Cup Gary Lineker was my hero, he was a pure out-and-out goalscorer who poached goals and just one of those characters who everyone loved; he was such a clean player too. Then it was Alan Shearer because he epitomised hard work, aggression, power and goalscoring ability. Dean.

Hi Dean. I am a striker and I was wondering if you have any tips to stay composed in front of goal? Are there any good training drills or warm up drills? I think u r well good. Thanks, Jack Walsh.
The Editor
Hi Jack, thanks for your question. Sadly, I can´t re-create how it feels to score a goal, you kind of go into your own world when it happens. All I would say is, as long as you concentrate, most times you will score. Of course it depends on the quality of the keeper you are up against, but if you manage to get your shot on target then you stand every chance of getting a goal. It takes lots of practise and hard work, but it´s well worth working on your technique, first touch and shooting. If you try and get yourself as good as you can, then the goals will definitely come! Good luck. Deano.

If you weren´t a footballer and you had to choose one other sport to be really good at, what would you choose? Chesh
The Editor
It would probably have to be golf. I´m alright but I´d like to be really good. I don´t find it that relaxing, but you can´t beat it on a nice day. We had one team golf day recently, but there´s no-one in particular that I play with. If the weather´s cold or rainy there´s no way I´ll play!
